Tournament with Law Enforcement Becomes Community-Wide Event

What first was discussed as a friendly game between Pickup the Ball and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office has become a community-wide event.  Tomorrow – Saturday, October 3rd, 2015, will be the First annual Pickup the Ball vs. Law Enforcement Tournament.

The amount of time the LCSO has put into this event is a testament to their commitment to improving relations between law enforcement and the community.  We look forward to some friendly competition with them to continue to build an already great relationship with them.

Come to the Stars Complex tomorrow between 1:00 and 6:00 to get eat, watch basketball, and enjoy a variety of activities for children.  everything will be free of charge, thanks to many great sponsors, including: Waste Pro, Culligan, LeeSar, Bob’s Top End, Specialized Veterinary Services, Killer Wraps, 3 C’s Productions, Pepsi, Reddy Ice, and of course the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.  Thanks also to Kevin James of Sights, Sounds & Success for leading the refereeing and donating all of his time.

You can expect to see Pickup the Ball Teammates, Sheriff’s FMPD, Corrections Officers, and local celebrities playing basketball together.
